How to Throw the Ultimate Girls Night In

Can’t go out? Stay in, but let’s make it as fun as if you were to hit the town. From music playlists to tasty treats and adult games, check out some of the entertainment ideas we’re incorporating into our very own girls’ night-in! Who doesn’t love a night in with your girls, it’s where the memories are made! When you’re with your friends, the ultimate goal is to relax, feel comfortable and not feel bad for anything you do throughout the night! With your friends, anything is possible.

As they say, it is all about location, location, location! Whether you host it at your home or if you all sip in and stay at a hotel, make it fun and make it your own. Decorate it how you want it!

When girls get together for some serious girl time, it is fun to splurge, so make sure you have some wonderful treats prepared! This is a night to let go and treat yourself, so I suggest having some treats prepared or asking everyone to bring their favourite dish. If you are a Tik Tok lover, you may have spotted the videos of the ‘bring your own board night’ and this would be amazing for a girl's night in. Each guest could make up a tray of food, it could be a certain colour, or cuisine, or it begins with a letter. Get creative!

Secondly, you want to make sure everyone has a drink in hand! One of the easiest ways to ensure everyone gets what they want is to encourage a BYOD (bring your drink) policy. Or keep it simple with a range of domestic beers and classic spirits – at least vodka and wine. For mixers, grab your favourite pack of pop and fruit juice, such as cranberry. If you want to get fancy, you can always stock up on garnishes, from lemon and lime to mint. Of course, if you want to have fun, then; make it a competition. One hour before the party, encourage everyone to grab some ingredients available; in their house for a cocktail competition.

A girl’s night is nothing without food and drinks. When the bellies get full, you can change into cute jammies. Chat with your girls ahead of time to coordinate! Who doesn’t love a matching set for those photo-worthy memories?

It’s not a party without a poppin’ playlist! Music will set the mood for the girl's night in plus help you avoid any awkward silences. Also, it will help everyone to let loose and have a good time. To make one, you can also go the DIY route – which will probably take hours. Or you can take advantage of the playlists that other stay-at-home partiers have already created via platforms like Spotify.

Whether you’re stuffing your face or sipping on a cocktail, you’ll want to spend a little bit of your downtime curled up on the couch. At this point, you will want to have a show or movie picked out – lest you spend an hour debating. Why not have all your guests write down their favourite film on a piece of paper, pop them all into a hat and randomly select a film? This way, you may even discover a new movie you haven’t watched, or you may get to watch a movie you already love.

There is not enough time in the world; to treat yourself to some TLC. Making girls’ night in is the perfect opportunity! You don’t have to get wild (in terms of money) unless you want to. It’s easy enough to make some DIY face masks but if it’s easier, feel free to make a trip to the closest drug store. Keep it simple with hydrating face masks, a set of neutral colour nail polishes, a lip scrub, pore strips, and even a hair mask. While you’re waiting for your face; and hair mask or nails to dry, it could be a great time to pop on a movie and enjoy a drink!

It was The Girls Bathroom and Cards Against Humanity, but now it’s time to add a new game to your repertoire. Preferably something easy to learn and short enough that you can get a couple of rounds in – before everyone gets bored. If you prefer something more raunchy, however, What Do You Meme? Any of these games will help pass the hours, but caution! You may find yourself rolling on the floor laughing.

One of my favourite things about a girl's night is that you can incite whoever you like, and some of your friends may not know each other which then creates new friendships! So here’s a reminder to celebrate the fabulous women and friendships in your life!
